Susan Braganza has over 27 years of experience in various aspects of accounting and administration, including 15 years in commercial and residential real estate. Ms. Braganza oversees Accounting and Finance for Property and Corporate, Treasury, Human Resources, and Information Technology for American Real Estate Partners.
Prior to joining American Real Estate Partners, Ms. Braganza served as Senior Director of Shared Services and Vice President of Accounting Operations at CarrAmerica Realty Services. While at CarrAmerica, Ms. Braganza led a team that re-engineered the back of the house operations and created a world-class Shared Service Center. She directed the accounting operations for a 35 million square feet office building portfolio in REIT, joint venture, and third party management operations valued at over $4 billion.
She has extensive experience in systems conversions and migration and has managed Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts for CarrAmerica. She has participated in mergers and acquisitions efforts including the Trizec acquisition, Blackstone merger and EOP integration. Ms. Braganza has lectured on SOX Compliance, Shared Services Operations, and Corporate Governance at a variety of national and international engagements.
Prior to her tenure at CarrAmerica, Ms. Braganza worked at Price Waterhouse in Washington, DC in various capacities for the Office of Government Services and the Washington National Tax Services. Ms. Braganza is an active member of her church and supports local charities in Alexandria, Virginia. She is a graduate of Far Eastern University, holds a BS in Business Administration/Accounting, and is a Certified Professional in Shared Services.
